The quickest and easiest way to capture a screenshot on your Nexus 5 is to use the built in method. All you need to do is to press the power button to the upper right of the handset and the volume down button to the left at the same time. It is important that the buttons are pressed simultaneously and held in for around a second. You might need to practice a few times to get it right, but once you have the knack, you'll find it very easy in future.

You'll know that the screenshot has been captured when a white outlined flashes around the edge of the screen – you'll also see confirmation in the notification bar. You can access your captured image in the Gallery by looking in the Screenshots folder.
Images can then be sent to other devices, or used in various apps by tapping the share button at the top of the image preview and then making a selection from the list of options that appears.
You could opt to install an app that takes care of screenshots for you, but using the hardware buttons is quick and simple.
Do you use the hardware buttons to take screenshots, or have you chosen to install a dedicated app instead?
