Motorola Moto Maxx release news, specs, features, dates etc [updated][Hot]

The Moto Maxx has just been officially revealed at an event we attended in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I'd been foaming at the mouth all year for the Nexus 6 and the Galaxy Note 4, but both of those phones are some seriously big Androids. Thankfully, the Moto Maxx is a smaller device, identical to the Motorola Droid Turbo which surfaced recently as a Verizon exclusive. We'll be updating this page as more information comes in, but for now check below for everything we have on the splendid-looking Moto Maxx. Update: Motorola France has confirmed that the Moto Maxx will not be available in France, or the rest of Europe for that matter. Read the full story at our updated Moto Maxx release date section.

Moto Maxx release date

The Moto Maxx will be available for purchase there on Motorola.com from today, and arriving in mid-November to Mexico. It will also be available in other parts of Latin America soon.
So far we don't have any details regarding other countries, but the Moto Maxx may come to the UK, mainland Europe and India, Southeast Asia and Australia in weeks to come, as with the global availability of the legendary Moto G. We reached out to Motorola for clarification on this, and its response was "we don't have anything to announce at this time".
Update: In response to a Twitter question fielded by androidpit.fr earlier today, Motorola France officially confirmed that the Moto Maxx will not be made available there. AndroidPIT France followed up with a question about the rest of Europe and Motorola's response was that the Moto Maxx will not be available within Europe either. This is extremely disappointing news for anybody who was hoping to get their hands on the the arguably better version of the Nexus 6.

Moto Maxx price

The Moto Maxx will cost around 699 Euros. The US price for the Droid Turbo rounds out to 599 USD for the 32 GB version, so this looks like a significant price increase, a rough conversion being at around 870 USD. This works out at around £550, but this is unlikely to be the final UK retail price.

Moto Maxx specs

The Moto Maxx specs are exactly the same as what we saw on the Droid Turbo, but the Droid Maxx will only be available with the Ballistic Nylon back plate. This means the Droid Maxx comes with a 21 MP rear camera, Snapdragon 805 processor (@2.7 GHz), 3 GB RAM and 3,900 mAh battery capacity.
Here's the Moto Maxx specs alongside those of the Nexus 6 for comparison's sake.

Moto Maxx features

Like the Droid Turbo, the Moto Maxx has pretty much the best specs sheet we've seen this year, running a near stock version of Android 4.4.4. The device won't come with out of the box Android 5.0 Lollipop, but you can bet it will be one of the very first devices to get the update.

That's all we have on Motorola's latest device so far. It's a Droid Turbo which isn't restricted to the Verizon network. We'll update you with the latest Moto Maxx price and availability details as and when we get them.
For now, what are your thoughts on the Moto Maxx? Would you prefer this to the Nexus 6?
